*EXCLUSIVE* - NIGERIA TODAY

"AS WE PRAY - TRANSFORM NIGERIA"

In today's Nigeria, there are too many paramount issues that need intervention. Although the country is one of the fastest growing economies on the African continent, a lot of issues in our opinion are still being undermined.

Despite the country’s  abundance in natural resources, it still remains a country with the largest population of poor people in Africa today with not less than 60% percent of the population living below the poverty line.

Why is this? Corruption plays a huge role; so also does an overbloated civil service and governance structure which gulps more than 70% of the annual budget (recurrent expenditure).

Graduates are rarely able to find a job and eventually end up on the streets or have to scam people on the internet (popularly known as 419) in order to make a living. This should not be the case but due to the skewed government and bribery and corruption in the country, the public are not given equal opportunities to earn a decent living hence the wide gap between the haves and the have - nots in the country.

The Boko Haram (local terrorist group) continue to terrorise innocent people regularly and the citizenry waking up almost every day to a tragic story from bombings, abductions and murder!!!
What serious steps, motions and movements is the government taking in order to deal with these  terrorist attacks? When again will Nigerians (especially in the Northern part of the country) be able to go to bed certain of what tomorrow holds?
Why should anyone live in the fear of the harsh unknown of tomorrow from these terrorists?

In a country where there is so much potential, why would child marriage be condoned on the pretext of religious conviction? In a world were education should be the opium of the youth, is that what we should subject young girls to? Getting married at 13?

Who is to blame really? Religion, Nigerians or both? In a country where religion and politics mix, there is a blurred line between these facets. There is an inability to maintain principles and politicians are quick to embrace religion and this has changed nothing from standards of living, reduced unemployment or even corruption.

LET US ALL WORK HAND IN HAND AND CAMPAIGN FOR A BETTER TOMORROW. WE CANNOT CONTINUE TO FUNCTION LIKE THIS.

THIS IS NOT LIFE.
